However you define it, the fact is Coaching has become one of the fastest growing industries in recent years but that brings with it a few problems – one of them being the varience in quality standards.

The coaching industry is self regulated industry. There are no legal requirements to register as a coach, consequently anyone may become and call themselves a coach. International Coach Federation

International Coach Federation (ICF) – founded by Thomas Leonard back in 1995 and the first to introduce the code of ethics and credentialing for coaches, the ICF is one of the largest and most successful accreditation bodies operating in the US, Canada and many other countries.

International Association of Coaching (IAC)

The International Association of Coaching (IAC) – founded in 2003, with a global mission to provide a highly accountable professional development model for aspiring and experienced coaches, as well as professionals in other fields, so their mastery of coaching is valued and contributes to evolving human potential worldwide.

International Authority for Professional Coaching & Mentoring (IAPC&M)

  International Authority for Professional Coaching & Mentoring (IAPC&M) –  Established in 2004 IAPC&M is an independent not-for-profit organisation, run by coaches and mentors for the benefit of coaches, mentors and training providers around the world with their own standards, ethics and complaint procedure.

Center for Coaching & Education (CCE)

Center for Coaching & Education (CCE) – a not-for-profit organization that provides practitioners and organizations with assessments, business support services and credentialing. Created in 1995 as an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), CCE credentials nearly 25,000 practitioners globally in a variety of fields.

Association for Coaches
