From Sarajevo to Visoko to Medjugorje to Makarska to Sinj.
Bosnian pyramids, dangerous rockfall, commercialised religion- overwhelming heat.
The last few days have been very interesting. After Sarajevo which I found really nice and incredibly fascinating, about as full of history as you can possibly imagine,

I then went to Visoko – only about 20 miles away, the site of the recently discovered Bosnian Pyramids- spent a couple of days walking all around the pyramids and exploring -speaking to locals, speaking to some of the guides. Absolutely fascinating. If it is genuine, and the evidence seems to be strongly in favour that it is Then it will throw into question everything archaeologists already believe about ancient history. It will be interesting to keep an eye on this.
Then down to Medjugorje one of the great religious sites in Bosnia – I have to say, I am incredibly impressed at how efficiently Religions manage to commercialize pretty much everything to do with Holy/Religious sites !!!
They really are expert at helping to relieve poor pilgrims and travellers of their hard earned money 🙂
Then across the border and into Croatia – which was one of the quickest and easiest border crossings in this whole journey. They just waved me through each side not interested in looking at any documents at all 🙂
On down through the mountains which were spectacular and on to the Croatian coast.
At one section there was a rockfall literally 100 feet in front of me — three cars, in front – A rock the size of a table came hurtling down the hillside and landed right on the bonnet of one of the cars- completely crushing it- if it had been on the roof I suspect people might have been killed — as it was, the occupants were- In the words of Elvis “All Shook up” but at least unhurt.
However their car is a complete write-off.
I quickly stopped and checked they were okay and then rode on –
Got to the town of Makarska and checked into a local Hostel- warm welcome, good bedroom, cold beer 🙂
This morning up at 6 a.m. and on the road by 6;30 a.m. where it was already 26°
did about 225 miles all along the Croatian coast heading north eventually it just got so hot, 39°- I stopped at a town called Sinj —
