Here at the-Coaching Chronicle-run by Gerard O’Donovan, our aim is to constantly bring value to those seeking to improve their lives. Therefore we have a policy of publishing articles and materials by guest authors whom we value and appreciate. Today’s guest author is from: Dave Robson.

Author and life coach Dave Robson describes his formula for success.

Sometimes people look at me as if I’m crazy when I say I don’t believe in recessions, but I don’t care. You see, I’ve been around long enough to know that, just like boom times, recessions come and recessions go and if you want prosperity and success it’s no use relying on anything that any Government might do to try to fix it.

Much better to understand that this is actually a Darwinian moment, by which I mean that the people who will survive and prosper are not necessarily the fittest or the richest, but the ones who can and will adapt fast to new ways of doing things and, above all, seize new opportunities.

If you are prepared to be bold and imaginative and to risk taking a position of leadership into new cutting edge methods and ideas, any time, even a recession, can be a fantastic opportunity for you. Hard work alone is not enough. You have to reinvent yourself, or to be more accurate, develop a suitable new mindset, step up to a new level and be prepared to deliver nothing short of excellence.

Now here’s the secret ? if you do something you are passionate about, and if you go about it in the right way, you are far more likely to be successful. That’s because you can only excel at something you love doing, and there’s always a market for excellence. Simple! We already have too much mediocrity in our world and it’s a huge turn-off.

I believe every one of us is born with a talent, passion, vocation, calling or aptitude, a special gift we can offer to the world. And it need not be anything elaborate. But unfortunately many of the people I encounter on a daily basis don’t know what their gift is, or claim they don’t. That’s why if you want to get serious about changing things to be happy, prosperous and fulfilled, you have to begin click here by getting to know yourself inside out.

How to do that? That’s the subject of next month’s article.

Well, this article just hit me right between the eyes! Holy cow! What hit me the hardest was the comment “You have to reinvent yourself, or to be more accurate, develop a suitable new mindset, step up to a new level and be prepared to deliver nothing short of excellence.” Then everything after that is a POW!
Awesome article and one that really kicks you in the butt and gets you in gear. Adding this to my collection to keep me motivated. Very nice!

I think it’s 100% accurate to refer to this as a “Darwinian moment.” In events like recessions, you can either sit around and wait for the economy to bounce back or you can evaluate the situation that you’re in and find new ways to make it work for you. Only one of those two options is going to give you a great deal of success. People who think they can just wait for things to get better might be waiting longer than they think, so it’s imperative that you make every situation work for you, even if that means taking a risk and trying something new.

Before reading this article I would have been one of those people thinking you’re crazy for saying you don’t believe in recessions. After all, I’m one of the millions currently struggling through it. But the fact is, I agree that adaptation is the key to survival, and that includes financial survival. I love the idea that anyone could turn their passion into success. That, to me, is the key to happiness.

Loved this article! I believe life quality is all about the mindset you keep. If your mind is filled with fear you will not live a good life. You need to take the good with the bad and make the best of the bad. See the positives in everything in life, your career, where you live, your relationships. I enjoyed this a lot. Thanks for sharing!
